The worst part is that even IF the currency were backed by gold or platinum or whatever metal, it still doesn't mean that each note would be made of that much in that metal. I can't believe this is the official Republican Party twitter account. And even more unbelievable is that the tweet is still up.

Eric Bolling: Schools ‘pushing the liberal agenda’ by teaching algebra | The Raw Story

Quote:
“But even worse is the way some textbooks are pushing the liberal agenda,” the Fox News host explained, pointing to an algebra worksheet that Scholastic says gives students “[i]nsight into the distributive property as it applies to multiplication.”
I....what.....no words.

Political correctness to the extreme. I wonder what else they could come up with. Maybe Teachers should henceforth be called "Information transaction facilitators". That seems a more capitalist name since teaching suggests distribution of free knowledge (a more social practice).

Can the term "political correctness" please die? It's so bloody meaningless.

I definitely think it's overused, but I don't think it's meaningless

Obama signs bill, gets Secret Service protection for life – CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

I can't believe it was taken away in the first place. It makes no sense. You can't have former Presidents of the United States (esp. with all the travel they do) without protection.....

Re: political correctness: I think in principle the term can be overused but it's one of those things that many people who rail against it are just mad that when they say assholish things, they get called out on it. I would say it's very rare that I would agree with a case of people are actually stifling legitimate speech by simply calling it 'politically incorrect' or something like that.

Republican Congressman backs Akin's "legitimate rape" comments. "He's partly right."

The Republican party's greatest hits tour on rape comments continues.
