So apparently people are now accusing Fox News of a liberal bias because their polling (which, granted, does seem to have a slight inhouse Democratic bias) shows Obama leading.

Yeah that works, totally out of line obviously.

Soooo, I've been watching some crap Us TV recently. I'm fascinated by the American pysche. In the Big Bang Theory there was a joke about how the US won the Cold war, yes how did they? I was reasonably sure it was the Russians themselves who turned against the authoritarian state. Has it become fact they won that war because they haven't won many for decades?

Then I was watching Last Resort, and it all seemed to be based on a remark from Ronald Reagan that seemed to be totally dementia orientated.

    Really confused here

Mind you I realise from Foxbots that all media is totally biased against the Republicans.

The US definitely helped along the collapse. Well communism was unsustainable anyway - especially as they tried to compete with the US economy. That's just in general terms, aside from things like Afghanistan.

They won it because the socio-economic system they champion prevailed.

Absolutely. It's rather simplistic to imply that the US didn't have anything to do with their collapse.

Well it's also the one most of the world preferred. Perhaps I'm wrong in given them no credit, but it seems very odd and simplistic to just give them a win.

    ho-hum.

Well it certainly was a win. How much credit the US takes, we can argue about.

Pretty hard to argue that the US wasn't heavily involved in the USSR's demise, tbh.

There's an argument that, at least among other things, the increased spending by the US on armaments under Reagan helped send the USSR broke. I don't know how true that I'd and I CBF looking it up, but it's an argument I've heard raised before.
