    It's a gift. The best barristers do it too. The art of the advocate, as my former pupil master and now judge said to me, is to reduce chaos and complexity to order and simplicity.

    Clinton is a genius at it. Keating was brilliant on explaining the economic stuff - to the point where he once said "I guarantee if you walk into any pet shop in Australia today, the resident galah will be talking about micro-economic reform" and got away with it - but he never had Clinton's home spin manner which made it feel like he was having a chat with you on your front verandah.

    Just watching the speech now. I read the transcript earlier today and thought the text fair crackled with intensity, the speech itself is just awe-inspiring. Good lord.
