Course I went on strike, I'm on a 3 day week anyway, not gonna turn down another day off! Plus i was the only manager striking, so dumped all the jobs that must be done that I couldn't be arsed doing on a colleague Got a feeling my inbox is gonna be full of **** come Monday.

All serious though, the union have dug me out of a hole before, and probably will do again, given how I shoot my mouth off. Yeah a payrise would be nice (especially after today budget where I'm gonna be frozen for the next 3 years, unless they've removed the salary cap for the 1%), but whilst I don't majorly need it ATM, I remember back only a few months where I was working 2 jobs just to meet my monthly commitments bill wise. Morally I can't not support what the majority of union members feel strong enough about to sacrifice a days pay over.

Having said that, 4 months in and my manager has already given me the go ahead to apply for another promotion. Guess being the only person under 30 gives me the edge, because what I considered a basic knowledge of excel functions turns out to be far beyond anything anyone else on this project knows, including the Grade 7's designing it.

Had to come in due to it being the last day and all but otherwise would have been on strike as well. Good luck sifting through your inbox.

Oh and I hate flexi sheets.

But didn't you vote Tory? If so it seems odd of you to vote for cuts, then strike over cuts.

I didn't actually. I abstained last time as none of the parties offered enough policies I felt comfortable voting for, the cons outweighed the pros for all of them. Labour were planning exactly the same (infant I think this was actually a labour policy extended, but I can't remember)
