    Thursday is a public holiday, so having Friday off would give a lot of people a four day weekend.

    here we have holiday on thursday due to republic day but still, our college has labs on that day for students #FML

    Yeah, Republic day and Australia day both are on the 26th of Jan, so we'll have that 'coincidence' every year.
