And re: Uppercut, yea I still feel that way about my teachers in school. The professors I see differently both because I'm older and the I work and talk to them about outside stuff, goto their homes (at least ones I do research with), meet them outside, etc. But I still would find it really odd if I saw my school teachers grocery shopping or something. It'd just be weird. I never saw any one of them as a 'real person', with the possible exception of a 12th grade math teacher that half the girls had a crush on, and we were all pretty sure he had affairs with at least a few of them.

Yeah, it's so annoying. Having to cut your hair all the time and not having to shave

So glad I've got my Dad's genes in the hair department. He hasn't got a lot less than you at the age of 66. Believe I posted a picture a while back. CBF looking for it.

Yeah same. My Dad is 60 odd and he has way more hair than my cousing on his side, who's 26. Plus I have blond hair and I think people with blond hair keep it for longer.

Instinctively, would think this is not the case.

Oh shut it. Having to dye your hair is a whole different proposition to not having hair to dry.

Don't rub so hard.

Same with your hair.

Yeah, it's funny. The surprise that registers when you mention doing normal things. Just because we live in the school doesn't mean we don't have normal lives. I don't know whether the boarding children see you as a fuller person because of the extra-curricular contact, or as a school prop because you're always there... I spend too much time taking the piss out of people for them to think I have no sense of humour, though.

That wasn't even the best Assembly faux pas of the year, either. The Chaplain started talking about Ferris Bueller's Day Off one morning... explaining how the main character "spunked off school"...
