Mine is basically exactly like vcs' picture. Except the room I'm in only has around 20 desks, so it's not quite as open plan as the rest of the building, but still very much open plan. It can be rather difficult to focus when other people are having conversations and my bosses always come over and have a chat to me about work.

Luckily I don't have anyone sitting behind me (it is a wall) and I have a view over the harbour so I just watch the cruise ships come in and out. But still pretty annoying.

Don't you use a donkey to cart milk to town from your farm?

I'd probably prefer that to an open plan office as well, tbh.

It was loud, very cold, and I always had to have a hairnet and gown on. No food or drinks allowed. But, only certain people had access to the suite and I was by myself. I weighed the options and moved in so fast that I dragged furniture in there myself.

I'm now in a proper solo office and you'll have to drag me away kicking and screaming.

Still do. The donkey that was stolen from us(which we got back) has retired. His brother has filled in nicely.

We have one single axle donkey cart, and a double axle horse cart. They work well.

That’s like retirement goals for me. Just live my days out surrounded by nature and animals. Will need high speed internet, a sick entertainment system and gaming set up inside the house though ofc.

Open plan in my work and is generally across the whole organisation, including CEOs. Kind of prefer it though I do enjoy the peace when I work from home

Open plan is the work of the devil. Work on a floor with inbound telephony agents and it's a ****ing nightmare for noise.

Desperately trying to push to allow some form of homeworking.

Are you still in the servicing department? Always trickier to get people to agree to WFH in those areas I find, even non-operational roles that can function efficiently from home.

In the line of work Iím in now open plan is generally fine, though it only takes a quick conversation nearby to kill your ability to hear on a phone call.
