Will be flying to Christchurch on Saturday, watching the Reds v Crusaders on Sunday, then returning to Brisbane on Monday morning via Sydney.

Just a sneaky weekend away with mrs ripper - life good.

Slightly indie-ish rock, but mostly rock would sum it up best. Depends on which song.

Cheers - Any advice on things to do in the day and a half we have to explore would be good - I know the city is still in pretty bad shape from what I'm told but am keen to do whatever touristy things can still be done.

Also, some recommendations of good local brews would be welcome

I'm thinking what did I do to deserve an office space across the most obnoxious and childish coworker. He's talking to some customer service person on the phone who is obviously not giving him exactly what he wants regarding some paperwork, so he decides to be a complete dick to the person. Gets their full name so he can report them and then tells them "you have a bad day" just before hanging up.

What infuriates me is that he's bound to be on a project with me one of these days.

I reckon we'd get along well until I shave my beard and you see me for what I really am...

Would be interesting to say the least. I've worked with people with similar personalities and they always defer to you until they don't need you anymore, then their dickish personality comes out. In the past, I've just gone on a rant telling them why they suck to work with when I've run out of patience. Sometimes it ends well other times it doesn't.

If I do run a project with him, I reckon he'll defer to me for quite some time. He knows next to nothing about this technology.

Manufacturing pharma stuff. When not stuck in my cubicle, I actually work with a unique technology used to manufacture liquid drugs in plastic vials such as eyedrops, inhalation solutions, daily Cystic Fibrosis treatments and what have you. My function changes based on the project, sometimes I'm troubleshooting or sterilizing the machines, sometimes I'm writing operating procedures and training documents, but mostly what I've been focused on over the last year and a half (been the major cause of my CW absences) is helping design a new process to make a glaucoma drug (not mary jane) that is completely automated. This last part of the job is actually really ****ing fun.

But yeah it's all to do Blow-Fill-Seal technology.
