I'm wondering whether the student on the computer beside me has any sound coming through his headphones and if so, how loud it is. This will help me make a decision as to whether I should just peel this fart off right here on the wooden chair, or go to the toilet.

To be honest, I think it might drown out whatever he's listening to. And headphones don't disguise the fact you're sitting at a computer covered in ****.

I think it is just 1 day but I dont know for sure. It was announced last week that it would be Friday off. Im sure you know far more than I do about how it is calculated but it seems wierd that they cant do it more than 7 days in advance.

I'm thinking that I might be a bit of an idiot. I'm applying to study Medicine at uni which is what I've wanted to do for the past 2 years. Obviously it's a massive commitment and everything, as well as being one of the hardest courses to get on with about a million different hoops to jump through. I'm basically condemning myself to 5 years of serious hard work at Uni on a degree I probably won't enjoy that much and getting examined all of the time, then about another 3 years of getting paid absolutely bugger all (seriously) for working very long hours in really stressful environments and then only earning any real money when I'm about 30 and only if I pass another bunch of exams.

Or I could apply to Durham which is my preferred university and do chemistry which is the degree I most want to do with good job prospcts and a much less stessful application process and probably have a much better time in the process.

Why exactly are you applying to medicine then?

Becuase at the end of the day, it's the profession I most want to go into and in the long term I think it's what I'll enjoy the most.

Hmm interesting dilemma. I'd say go for medicine then, that's why I'm still applying to Law.

Which universities are you looking at?

Hull/York, Nottingham, Leicster and Liverpool. Apart from Liverpool and York, none of them are particularly places I'm mad keen on going to, but I really don't care as long as I get in.
