Great thread mate. Im personally trying to get this holiday to launch World Wide again

I already have my aluminum pole without any decoration for i find that distracting

Great choice mate. Bamboo is obviously cheaper, but I find aluminum has a very high strength-to-weight ratio.

I thought I'd save some money by going down the assemble-it-yourself route. It was a bit tricky figuring out what went where:



But I finally had it gracing my living room. You're right about the distracting decoration. I too find that an undecorated Festivus pole has an understated elegance and solemnity to it..

You can speak of this in the airing of grievances part of the holiday. The set up gear is most crucial though

I think I'll be alright setting everything up. As G I Joe mentioned, the pole has a very high strength to weight ratio
