True, to be honest I'm not a fan of going out and getting drunk, don't mind going out for a meal and maybe a drink (coke)

Don't mean this to sound patronising CDM, but you're way too young to know what the best type of night out is. It's not unusual for someone your age to not be a fan of drinking.

And a good thing that he isn't. Alcohol is fun and everything, but if you start that early, it usually becomes a significant hinderence to your life by the time you're an adult.

Hmm, know a lot of people who started drinking at about 13, depresses me a bit tbh.

I dunno, teenage drinking isn't necessarily the demon it's always made out to be

Have you ever been to a strip club with another forum member? Thanks Goughy

Although my thoughts on strippies can be summed up in the words of the great Karl Pilkington "It's like being given a meal, but not being able to eat it" - I just don't see the point to be honest

Possibly, but I don't think there is any debate that starting to drink significantly during your teenage years makes you much more likely to be a real alcoholic in your adult life.

This is true, though you can sometimes pick up the waitresses. No chance with the strippers usually haha. Not for me anyway.

    .
Yeah - I'm thinking more along the lines of teenagers who go to a party, drink a heap of alcopops and throw up, rather than the ones who are drinking regularly

I'm talking more about people who drink literally all the time, also I think starting to drink is one of those things which make you feel more grown up like putting your first bet on or your first bank account (oh of course, and )

Yeah, I didn't drink until this year tbh. While everyone else was "going to partys, drinking lots of alcopops and throwing up" I just chose not to. I didn't like the taste of alcoholic drinks more than I liked the taste of other things and I wasn't willing to drink for the sake of getting drunk.
However, I've discovered the joys of cider. I don't drink regularly and when I do drink I don't drink a lot. It's just so nice

Sounds like something I spout off 3 Fridays out of 4 (the other ends up in the hangover thread)

Trying to change my ways and stop binge drinking tbh

When I say 'trying' I mean that I say that that's what I'll do prior to a night out. And then just don't even make an effort.

I can't drink a lot currently anyway. In fact I shouldn't be drinking at all due to the medication I'm on. Nights out are cheaper though
