    The Open Championship

Well, the big one starts tomorrow.

Is anyone looking beyond Tiger and Ernie for the big prize?

    Personally, I'm backing Padraig Harrington.

    I like Jim Furyk...

He now knows what it takes to win a major, and i think he can do it...
    Ernie is the main danger....

I think Phil Mickelson will lead right till the end and choke like he usually does for an unknown player from Ireland to win the Championship.

Would like to see Justin Rose do well and Peter O'Malley had a scorching round the other day I noticed. Still very hard though to look beyond Tiger or Ernie.

Luke Donald is my tip 8D

Only joking, probably whoever can keep the drives from going high and being taken by the wind, I've heard Perry's drive is quite lofted in comparison so could struggle.

As Greg Norman moves to the top of the leaderboard (playing wonderfully well), I suspect that Age_Master may know something the rest of us don't.

Hennie Otto the early clubhouse leader - played really well for a 68 (-3)

Well, there's a first time for everything

Matthias Gronberg (after 15 holes) and Norman (16) now tied with Otto on three under.

And Norman's just got a nice kick on the 17th, lucky boy...

And Tiger's not coping well at all..

Most comical moment so far - Lee Westwood racing up to the ninth green in order to mark his ball before the howling wind blew it off again.

Never seen a professional golfer move so fast except to pick up a pay cheque.

If this wind continues, they're talking about the cut being around +6 or +7.

Well Els is in trouble, and he's not the only big name!

    Interesting leveller it appears...
