    Weird niche magazines

Bit of a rip off of the GNW/Glasshouse (can't remember which) segment, but it occurs to me there are some amazingly specialized, and to non-followers lame, magazines out there.

There's a guy on train next to reading a jogging magazine. A full monthly magazine on jogging??? Not athletics. Not a sport where there's a lot of equipment that would need discussion. Jogging! Would quite possibly be a boring as actually jogging.

    Anyone got anything else?

Yeah, but there's always a lot of gear coming out for cycling, plus it's a competitive sport as well. Jogging isn't as far as I know.

They usually have an example of something like this in Have I Got News For You. Here's the list of magazines used, including such bizarre publications as Doorknob collector and American Taxidermist. Some may be out of business by now.

    Yeah.

There are plenty publications on esoteric subjects catering to a small group of people, but they're usually things that you could read and write a bit about, if you were interested in it. You'd have to be tremendously boring to want to read an entire magazine about jogging, can't imagine there being a lot to discuss. I guess the editorial pages are full of letters complaining about runners and power walkers, perhaps even regular walkers.

"You remember Jim Fixx? This human cipher used to write books on jogging. Now, what do you ****in' write about jogging? "Right foot, left foot, faster, faster, oh hell, I dunno, go home, shower." Pretty much covers the jogging experience, I do believe. Then this doofus goes out and has a heart attack and dies... while jogging. There is a God. "Right foot, left foot... hemorrhage."
