    Battle of the Members V

Havent had one of these in a while, must be over a year now. Ok, I want a minimum of 32 members (Will probably be 48 or higher) and the minimum amount of posts for each nominated member must be 500 and obviously they must be active.

Nice idea to run BOTM V - I think we normally have 96 members competing, though

usually give people the chance to opt out as well

96 may be too many....64 is more than enough IMO.

BOTM has always had 96 though, so I don't see the logic in reducing it, given that membership has increased.

Banned members dont count (Otherwise I'd have sledger) Not really inconvinient if we have a lot of nominees. Will go for the 96 then.

Hmmm, interesting saying no banned members. What happens if someone gets banned during the battle? Would be more logical to only prevent permas from competing IMO.

Cue someone to say that I'm sledger's lapdog - I couldn't give a **** if he is in the battle or not, just trying to prevent complications down the line

Don't we just go for the 96 most prolific posters who're active, less drop outs from the more emotionally fragile members? They're then replaced with a few deserving wild-cards.

    - As featured in The Independent.

"The committee discussed the issue of illegal bowling actions, and believed that there are a number of bowlers currently employing suspect actions in international cricket, and that the ICC's reporting and testing procedures are not adequately scrutinising these bowlers."
    - Even the ICC's own official press release thinks things must change

Nope, 6 months, back in June (banned again by July IIRC)

That's the way it's gone in the past. Think nominations for something like this could lead to the thread being closed in all honesty. Generally someone like marc wouldn't want to compete, so as you say his spot would then be opened for a n00b who isn't in the top 96 as far as postcounts go but is clearly a top member

Keen to regain your title then?

Think I'll just stick with the nominating system, havent got time to find out who the 96 most active are.

When me and Pratyush ran it we did the top 96, removed the inactives + objectors, and replaced them with nominations.
    Or something.
