Help find Craigos some decent music
After selling out to Apple and giving that I have an overseas trip coming up in a week and a half's time, I have acquired an Apple ipod Touch with an 8gb size so I can get aroughly 1800 songs on it. That is perfect for me, as I don't need a collection of 50,000 songs on it.
So I need your help as I trust many on this site to have a decent knowledge of music, whilst mine is novice at best. So to give you some sort of info that I am after and what I like: I tend to prefer rock music, but I would rather listen to stuff from the 70's and 80's (I could listen to Pink Floyd all day for example) then a lot of crap I hear on mainstream radio stations. I also like music from lesser known bands, or band that have gone big but some of their earlier work (like Kings of Leon - I wouldn't listen to their current album, but I would favour their earlier work) and I'm definatly a fan of Franz Ferdinand. I'm not really into stuff that has a political message in it, I hear and read enough of it, without some muso putting it into their songs to make people think they give a ****, when they don't, just to boost sales and bring in the $$$$$$$ (like Linkin Park). Some heavy metal is ok, as long as it is good, then I certainly can listen to it. I'm not really too fussed as to where the band comes from though. That should do it for now, but anymore questions I will post them. Thanks

If you're gonna make a thread like this, don't even bother listening to music.

Only bands I can tell you a lot about are AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. I could name certain albums if you're interested.

I have a fairly mainstream taste in music. Have a gander at my top listened to bands, reckon you'd go alright there.

If you like a bit of Floyd, Craigos, you might want to check out Elbow & Doves. Both have something of Floyd's epic granduer about them.
There Goes The Fear - Doves The Cedar Room - Doves Station Approach - Elbow (live at Glasto) One Day Like This - Elbow

Indeed. I was worried that it might be later in NZ, but smokecds.com confirms that 6th April is the release date.
Shame they're not touring here; they're incredible live. Don't think I can afford a return air-fare to the UK just to see a Doves gig either, sadly. |
