If you're a **** parent, you're a **** parent. It's why you should consider the 18 year commitment you're making before you stick your cock in something or open your legs.

And I'm not sure exactly what part of my last post you were saying you 'couldn't judge a parent like that' to!? The bit where I said the woman ignoring her kid and being totally focused on her phone was wrong, or that parent's who pay attention to their kids when it's needed generally have better behaved kids? It seems like common sense to me. I think the main problem is we can't judge anything like anything anymore...meaning nobody is responsible for anything at all.
You're quite right obviously, I'm just basing what I know off Louis CK.

If I ever have kids, and I catch them doing anything with a computer except for normal stuff like porn and hacking into school to change their grades, I will beat their asses like a red headed step child

And within just one sentence, we find you've already pre-empted having to deal with having a problem child

HR Departments.

I work 8.30 - 5.00. Its a 7.5hr day with an hour lunch. I'm due in on New Years Eve, the building is only open 8.00 - 4.00, which for those lingering at the back, is an 8 hour day.

I've been told I cant do my normal shift (makes sense), so I need to tell HR what hours I will do that day. I tell them I'll work 8.00 - 16.00, but only take 30 mins lunch, means 7.5 hours as per normal.... You'd think that makes sense??

No, I get an email saying I can't do that, I have work 8.00 - 16.30, and book leave between 16.00 - 16.30, when the building is shut

After much checking and wondering if I really can't count to 8, and my manager trying to convince me I can't (I win, I convince him he cant), he finally wanders over to HR (I'm not allowed to approach them, as I'm not a manager, despite the fact I'm awaiting posting to a managers role), they tell him to tell me that they can approve me changing my working hours, but not my lunch hours, therefore I have to have an hour lunch, and book leave when the office closes. If I don't book leave then I'll be going home without authorisation when the building closes for the year.

However if I want to I can make up the half an hour by reducing my lunch to 30 mins, but I've got to decide that on the day, and they'll see if they can approve it then.

Does the justification involve the Working Time Regulations?

I doubt it, they'd have to think of that. Bear in mind we've closed New Years Day so I can't do over 48 hours there anyway.

Oh and they make me sign a new opt out form every year (my choice, 2 jobs etc).

They've not given any explanation why they can't do what they asked me to do. I've given up getting any sense out of HR a long time ago. Their common sense isn't so much as on a different planet, more ****ed off last time Halley's Comet did a pass

Nah, most of the business couldn't give a flying eff about leave, infact our building will probably be desolate beyond our floor that day, but as were contact we've got to sit and listen to you ****s whinge at us. Some of the things they spin are beyond illogical

Personally, the question you should be asking yourself isn't 'What will HR let me do?' but 'What are the consequences for just doing whatever the **** I want?'

The beauty is, if I do what they say, because I've been forced to cut the shift short through no fault of my own, I actually don't have to use leave, but they must credit me with the time. They are actually making me take free holiday.

The thing is, it's all moot, because I get my confirmation if I've got my new placing this week, and the chances of me staying in that office are slim (and the chances of me staying in the same job are even lower). Until thats signed, sealed and delivered though, I'm keeping my head below the parapit.

I've got serious leave issues as well

When I started work I was told I would get a network password soon for the intranet through which I can apply for leaves. The thing about the account though is that if you don't log on for 2 months, it gets locked. After about a month I sent them an email and asked my senior officer to get them to htfu. No response. When it started getting close to that 2 month deadline I decided to call them. No response. Eventually I went down to HQ on my off day and asked the admin guys what the hell was going on and all I got was "Oh, we mailed the details to the wrong Station, we'll have to reset the account now to prevent whoever got the letter from using your account. Give us a few working days and we'll mail you the letter."

2 weeks later, I received the letter. Turned on the PC, entered the password and what do you know, locked. Called them up, no response. Shot them an email, no response. Went down to HQ again and they told me it'll take up to a month or more to unlock it because they have a lot of accounts to process. Refused to do it on the spot even though it probably takes like 10 minutes. ****ing dogs. Still waiting on the new letter atm.

So anyways, I now have 14 leaves in all, which equate to 7 24-hour shifts, out of a remaining 20 shifts left for the year. I can basically not go to work for nearly an entire month, if only I had the damn password now. But guess what, the leave applications for November and December just started, and obviously since I can't apply, I wasn't able to secure my leaves. December is school holidays in Singapore so all the seniors with families have taken up the slots, which means I have to work the whole month to ensure we have enough manpower.

That leaves November, and if those ****s don't give me my password soon, all my leaves for the year will be burned.

can't believe this is happening in Singapore.

During my 1 week there all I could see was super efficiency
