I think the problem lies with them getting in to uni in the first place if they're obviously going to struggle, but you do feel sorry for students who have been elevated beyond their means (although often you'll find there have been opportunities to sit down with them and counsel them on what needs to be done to reach the level they want, and for some reason this has been ignored - usually by the school due to financial concerns or pressure from the student (which comes back to financial concerns)).

Oh Korea...
MBC's The Shocking Reality About Relationships With Foreigners - YouTube To be fair, there are a number of Koreans giving support to the foreign teacher's campaign to have something done about this type of thing being broadcast. Edit: I should know better than to comment on YouTube videos... Last edited by Son Of Coco; 02-06-2012 at 07:58 AM. |

Generally delete those kinds of people, it's very rare that there's any real reason to stay connected with them. Probably time to do some Facebook culling myself...

Useless updates are precisely why I don't log onto facebook any more than once a month or so. The worst of those are the 'checking in' posts.
On the plus side, my inactivity means I won't have any issues with potential employers wanting to check me out on the site. What do you guys reckon sounds less disturbing from an interviewers pov? (a) I don't have a facebook. or (b) I have an account, but I'm not an active user. I'm guessing (b), since (a) could sound like I have something to hide. |
