Can anybody tell me why we have this 2.0 and 3.0 nonsense that I keep seeing? I mean a new version of Vegemite was marketed as iSnack 2.0. WTF?

In January 1977 or 1978 a train travelling from Parramatta to the city ran off the rails and hit the staunchons on an overbridge at Granville, bringing the whole thing down on two carriages. 70-80 odd people died that day, but one of the more appalling things to come out of the whole tragedy was the ambos anf fire brigade officers running back to their vehicles to get equipment, only to find their trucks had been robbed of all their gear by some mangy arsewipes.

The words "lappy" or "lap", used in reference to notebook computers.
I don't know if the people using these mean to be cute or clever. What's wrong with "laptop" or "notebook"? Its just two syllables, does it really need shortening to one cringeworthy one? Instead I have to put up with a grown man throw around these terms on a daily basis, which makes me feel like I'm either dealing with a ten year old, or am simply not hip enough anymore.
