A Toast to the Happy Couple - The Jim Yushi Pile Up

    This is really rather ripping.

Kind of like a cross between an American Belle & Sebastian and Pavement with hints of early Velvet Underground and a dash of Flaming Lipsy blissed out psych late on.

Biggest hard on a new to me band has given me since The Panics.

"as much a news event as an actual footballer, a worthy stop-start centre forward, but an all-time hyper-galactico when it comes to doing funny things with cars and hats, a player whose signing proves once again that the Premier League is still undoubtedly the best in the world when it comes to doing things with cars and hats."

Nostalgia! Wow, I forgot how much I like these songs. Been years since I listened to them.

The Veils - Jesus for the Jugular

May have been singing a stirring rendition of this in the car the other day and got some strange looks at an intersection. Worth it.

King Crimson pioneered about 10 genres decades before they were a thing. FACT

Broom People - The Mountain Goats

Been on a real Mountain Goats kick the last week or so. Just loving The Sunset Tree - one of those albums I find I can just came back to every now and then and really get into (despite being thankfully unfamiliar with the subject matter).

After watching BBC4's programme about the life and times of Lou Reed, I've spent some time listening to the small amount of Velvet Underground in my collection.

A question though. Is 'Transformer' all it's cracked up to be? I don't own a copy and wonder whether it's still worth buying.

    Cinema Staff - Great Escape

Some of the best lead guitar work I've heard. Slightly off kilter and rarely still but flows together so well. Rest of the band awesome too.
