Oh I'm a big fan. Were probably my 3rd faves as a kid, after Oasis and blur.

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Beautiful - Cold Water Flat

Rather ripping piece of balls-out, heart-on-sleeve, post grunge from band fronted by Paul "Brother of Bill" Janovitz.

Quality riffage for a Sunday lunchtime.
Love the band to death but that tune stinks imo. Repetitive riff is repetitive.

Seahorses - Love is the Law

Seahorses - Love is the Law (High Quality) '97 - YouTube

Might have posted this before, but WTF - quality riffage from Squire and Helme's vocal style appeals.

Cast undervalued generally anyway, IMHO. Written off as Scouse chancers for no other reason than they were from Liverpool, John Power was a ranga & they had a lot of the same influences e.
His singing voice made him sound like a cast off (pardon the pun) from an episode of Bread. We know you're a scouse, but please don't sound like one. The only decent song they did was Live The Dream.

Saw him supporting the reformed Shed Seven at the Cambridge Junction last year (I think he's a York boy like the Sheddoes). Did an acoustic version of Love is The Law; rather corking it was too.

Haterz gonna hate.

Nah, must admit I've never thought Power overdid the regional accent dealy. Certainly not a Cerys Matthews/Billy Bragg/Dave Gedge type affair, anyway.

Meanwhile:

Every Hour God Sends - Jack Frost

Intersting early 90s collaboration between two heavy hitters of Australian music, the late, great Grant McLennan of The Go-Betweens and Steve Kilbey of The Church.

Sounds reminiscent of the early, angular, new-wavey Go-Betweens of Send Me a Lullaby.

Yeah, they're superb live. Stole the show in an early-afternoon slot at the BDO a couple of years back. Can't wait to see 'em again.
