Muse - Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want
Always credit this cover with getting me to listen to The Smiths for the first time all those years ago. So it's got a special place in my heart. And IMO it's a bloody good cover, too - quite a different interpretation of the song. Last edited by _Ed_; 14-11-2012 at 04:16 AM. |

Opening track on their new album is one of the songs of the year imo.

Shackler's Revenge - Guns N' Roses
Finally picked up Chinese Democracy ('cos it was reduced to £1.99, mainly) and am two songs in. Bit nu metal for my taste, this track.

I'm a fan, tbh. Always prefer my albums to be slightly underrated by critical consensus and it never got the props it was due.
Cast undervalued generally anyway, IMHO. Written off as Scouse chancers for no other reason than they were from Liverpool, John Power was a ranga & they had a lot of the same influences as Oasis. Anyway: The Sky is Fallin' - QOTSA Quality riffage for a Sunday lunchtime. |
