Post rock - namely Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in the Sky.
Postcards from 1952 is a top track, and has one of the best film clips I've ever seen.

Such gun music for studying to.
"MTV isn't really my cup of tea... mostly because I hate huge pieces of **** in my tea." - Aziz Ansari
New album coming out soon too.
The Album Leaf ~ Dark Becomes Light
I love The Album Leaf but this EP really hasn't done it for me. Doesn't have the charm that some of the earlier albums had, a bit too moody and introverted and that's never been what I liked about his music. Bit of a shame.

1000 Days of Shame - Clodhopper
Stripped down American roots/C&W from former American Music Club bassist Danny Pearson. Obviously some hints of his former band's MO, but Danny's high-register voice puts one in mind of Neil Young in acoustic mode.
- As featured in The Independent.
"This is not the time for namby-pamby promising youngsters who might just do something; not the time for building for the future. Pragmatism rules and they don't come more pragmatic than Rogers."

Spin Doctors - Two Princes
Neighbourhood, The - Sweater Weather
Brilliant song. Isn't it about a nightlight? Quite abstract of course.
There's a picture opposite me
Of my primitive ancestry
Which stood on rocky shores and kept the beaches shipwreck free - Nightlight imagining of its ancestral Lighthouse
And it would be fired if it tried to be a lighthouse as it is only a nightlight and thus its light would be too weak to divert the Argonauts away from the rocks.

Who watches over you - Nightlight
I'm your only friend
I'm not your only friend,
but I'm a little glowing friend,
but really I'm not actually your friend; but I am - The nightlight itself
etc. etc.
Flume - Sleepless (feat. Jezzabell Doran)
Can't wait to hear this live at Parklife on Sunday.
Talking Bird - Death Cab For Cutie
I picked up Narrow Stairs for a couple of quid yesterday and I must admit I've been blown away by it.
