Post rock - namely Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in the Sky.

Postcards from 1952 is a top track, and has one of the best film clips I've ever seen.

New album coming out soon too.

The Album Leaf ~ Dark Becomes Light

I love The Album Leaf but this EP really hasn't done it for me. Doesn't have the charm that some of the earlier albums had, a bit too moody and introverted and that's never been what I liked about his music. Bit of a shame.

1000 Days of Shame - Clodhopper

Stripped down American roots/C&W from former American Music Club bassist Danny Pearson. Obviously some hints of his former band's MO, but Danny's high-register voice puts one in mind of Neil Young in acoustic mode.
    - As featured in The Independent.

"This is not the time for namby-pamby promising youngsters who might just do something; not the time for building for the future. Pragmatism rules and they don't come more pragmatic than Rogers."

I picked up Narrow Stairs for a couple of quid yesterday and I must admit I've been blown away by it.
