some people don't like all shook down but i find it a rewarding finish. obv doesn't touch tim and let it be, but i like how most of it is about how the replacements attempts to sell out failed

i guess the fact the above song is the only song played by all members of the band factors into the 'not liking it' crowd tho
Indians can't bowl - Where has the rumour come from as I myself and many indian friends arwe competent fast bowlers ?

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

Is that the song GNR covered on The Spaghetti Incident?

Started off life as a putative Westerberg solo effort, didn't it? The Mats getting equal billing with all session players on the liner notes, which I guess is indicative of a band in crisis.

Let It Be is their magnum opus, IMHO but the production on Tim mars the finished result. Would rate Don't Tell a Soul as #2, which is probably heresy to hardcore Mats heads, but it shows Westerberg maturing and diversifying as an artist.

Nope, although, as you probably know, Tommy Stinson (the incumbent GnR bassist last time I looked) was a former Replacement.

    - As featured in The Independent.

"The committee discussed the issue of illegal bowling actions, and believed that there are a number of bowlers currently employing suspect actions in international cricket, and that the ICC's reporting and testing procedures are not adequately scrutinising these bowlers."
    - Even the ICC's own official press release thinks things must change

Attic Sky's - This Is Home

EP is out at last. Absolutely nothing manufactured about these guys, one of the few bands I've seen with a distinctive NZ swagger to them.

Oh my. Am I excited for a new album in December or whatttttttttt.
Liking Dark Days more than Sleepwalker. And I liked the Deep Blue album as a whole.

Starting to get into post-rock a bit at the moment.

One, Two, Three - Bill Janowitz & Crown Victoria

Solo career highlight from the Buffalo Tom mainbod. Can see why he gets labelled "the indie Bruce Springsteen" in this kinda form.

I liked Deep Blue but felt musically it was a large step back. It sacrificed technique and intricate guitar work for a lyrical theme, which I enjoyed but found the album bored me a bit by the end. I also lacked an album defining breakdown, which Dark Days already has.

To me, Dark Days sounds like they took what used to work for them and made it better. I like it.

The Sun Refused to Shine - Richard Hawley

Just achingly wonderful. Big Dick's Scott Walker fixation is again to the fore, but the expertly marshalled feedback puts one in mind of Vudi's work with American Music Club & the stately 3/4 waltz time completes the effect.

Pretty much genetically engineered to appeal to me then.

Holy ****. This song has been so massively hyped, and I thought it had no chance of living up to it. But... wow.

Wish I could write songs like this. Probably need to learn to speak Icelandic first.
