Smashing Pumpkins - Thru the Eyes of Ruby
Just saw a review of their (well, Billy Corgan + others) new album, and also saw a top 20 Pumpkins songs countdown (Readers' Poll: The Best Smashing Pumpkins Songs Pictures | Rolling Stone). They had some seriously good songs; pity Corgan's such a ****. |

You Must Go On - Bernard Butler
Off the ex-Suede man's second solo outing Friends & Lovers. Always been a massive fan of his huge production style; Suede were never the same band once he effed off. This has almost a southern bar boogie feel and a great guitar solo as one might expect from the player of his generation.

Forever And A Day - The Offspring (live)
I love the Ignition 20th Anniversary tour so so much. Awesome closer to my second favourite album from them. There might be a DVD in the works as well since there were definitely pro shot cameras at at least the first show. The Offspring - Forever and a Day Live @ AB Brussels Belgium 2012 - YouTube

Agony - Unbelievable Truth
Radioheadologists amongst you out there might be interested to know their lead singer is Andy Yorke, younger brother of Thom. Sounds vaguely like big bro (less so than Matt Bellamy tho) with a small suggestion of Andy McCluskey from OMD (ask your parents). As for the music, it's minorly epic indie rock with a few subtle electronic flourishes. Think Athlete or early period Embrace. |
