    Frankie - Crazy Lonely EP

These guys totally reek of OK Computer/The Bends era Radiohead influence, though with touch of indie in there too.

    Alligator_Aviator_Autopilot_Antimatter - REM

Collapse Into Now definitely continued the greenshoots of recovery that Accelerate brought forth. Their best since New Adventures... IMHO.

Still can't believe we won't get another REM record.

"I don't believe a word of Pietersen's book, but then I don't believe a word anyone else has said either."

Proudly against the bring back Bennett movement since he is injury prone and won't last 5 days.

    Then..

Burial - Archangel (Boy 8 Bit's Simple rework)

Rather an improvement on the original without messing about with it too much.

    Listened to any Burial, Spark?

This is the One - The Stone Roses

The embryonic, Martin Hannett-produced version from their Garage Flower compilation/aborted debut album.

I always find it slightly odd hearing something so familiar with such a different arrangement. It's very bass heavy, as anyone familiar with Hannett's production technique might expect, but Squire's opening chiming opening chords are present and correct. Hannett's spectral sparseness gives the song a more intimate, less celebratory feeling. If there are any Roses (or Joy Div) fans who haven't heard it, it's well worth a listen.
