Remember covering this when I was in a symphonic band, back when I was in school. Always knew it as an instrumental, so the original still sounds odd to me.

Fire & Skill is a great tribute album, actually. Gem's former band do a pretty ripping version of The Gift on it too.

Buffalo Tom's version of Going Underground is the stand out tho; more post punk classics should be covered in waltz time.

"The committee discussed the issue of illegal bowling actions, and believed that there are a number of bowlers currently employing suspect actions in international cricket, and that the ICC's reporting and testing procedures are not adequately scrutinising these bowlers."

Yeah Ive heard a few tracks from it but not the whole thing.

What do you make of Noel's take on To Be Someone? My guess would be you'd give it a thumbs down

Bit bloodless. It's all right on its own but comes off badly when compared to the original, which features one of Foxton's very best basslines & has a real bite to it.

Well I probably agree in a way as I love Noel's but I heard it first, and got quite a shock when I heard the original.

Got a few live versions that Noel did on the Be Here Now tour, and afterwards, which I prefer. But that's because I'm a nerd.
