Underground - Tom Waits

Just put on Swordfishtrombones in one of my occasional bouts of "giving an artist I think I should like more another go".

While You Were Sleeping - Elvis Perkins

Loving his stuff atm. All my favourite bands have let me down this year unfortunately.

Add to that during some parts you can hear where they've clipped the notes, especially the snare drum.

Just hasn't done it for me. I'm all for subtlety and melody, but it's RHCP ffs. "Goodbye Hooray", and "The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie" are the only ones which have really caught me at this stage.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - If I Had A Gun

The sort of song that made Noel famous. Beautiful.

Fair shout. I quite like the Chili's when they're quieter, so the most of the album is up my alley. My favourite song is Annie Wants A Baby.

Criminally underrated b-side. Really beautiful and emotional song.

And Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik

Didn't take much notice of it at first, but it's one that's really grown on me.
