I loved the early Foo Fighters, haven't liked them in a while. My bro tells me the new album is good though so I'll give it a shot

And I'm glad Burgey can't be talking about me WRT musical elitism, all my favourite bands were massive (largely because they are the best )

Yeah, absolutely. And I completely agree with your argument.

But I don't think CW will ever be able to free itself from music snobbery's evil grasp. It's such a widespread problem on the internet that waves of new members will sign up having become accustomed to casually slagging off others' music tastes.

I prefer to think of you as the exception which proves the rule.

Actually, I prefer not to think of you at all, ****.

Burgey raises a good point.

Several good points, actually.

listening to Stockholm Syndrome-Blink 182. Some of the best pop punk ever written imo.

Can't load Youtube atm, out of intertubes for the month. No relation to Muse's Stockholm Sydrome?

That album is decent - bit weird though. Like they were trying to all of a sudden be a serious band. **** off and talk about boobies and wanking you clowns.

Miss You is gorgeous though

I don't mind the change. Found the new lyrics and instrumentals refreshing.

Call me commercial, but Enema of the State kicks ass.

I was discussing this the other day with someone and we were pointing out that the insecurity of needing to name so many bands and artists on here that are obscure and/ or fall within a certain musical genre is generally a product of:

1. Youthful need to be accepted and somehow seen to be so wonderfully "different" from the mainstream; and/ or

2. Having your head up your own arse.

Either way, hopefully for all concerned, when their balls eventually drop they'll grow out of it.

There is no right or wrong, it's what you like. Just as I could probably laugh at most people's taste in art, but I don't because I realise it's a completely individual thing. There is no right or wrong.

So with that in mind, I've been listening to two songs this evening, the first the famous Duelling Banjoes sequence from Deliverance, which I'm watching on TV now, the other is the wonderfully apt (for where my head is right now) Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin. I love this song, but then again I love crooners in general. You may not, and that's fine, but I'm not about to pour a bucket of **** on you because you don't.

(read: i don't have a good response to this so i'm gonna make fun of you.)

but i should note i don't try to impress people and i doubt many people on here do. it's more a case of really liking this one artist that people may not know about and hoping by mentioning them on here one other person might find out about them and like them too.

Haha, Spikey.. Such a gun. Was a general rant, I just quoted you is all.

I understand that. It's not the posting of artists that ****s me, it's the bagging the crap out of other people's likes that irks me, in the context of music, which is so subjective.

Currently listening to a B-side featured on the Japanese release of The Dissent of Man by Bad Religion called Finite. Should really have featured on the album imo, though it is very similar to To Another Abyss. Gun album it is too, even if it is a departure from their usual.

Seconded.

I have such narrow tastes these days as well. I like a lot of different bands but love a select few, so they get all my play time.

but really. i don't understand the love for dave grohl, from both in the mainstream and in the indie-world. he's considered a genius in both and i don't really get it.
