Yep. Utterly refused to acknowledge the existence of the audience for the first seven or eight songs (all of which were in blatant contravention of the "no new crap" rule), ignoring the increasingly sarcastic cries of "Hello, Fran!" between numbers. Then when he did condescend to play some stuff we actually knew lectured us about our need to let go of the past and how the future really wasn't that scary. I mean, imagine us, the paying public, actually wanting to hear the songs that he wrote and made him famous? The cheek of it.

Wanker.

Borrell wasn't a prick though. By far the biggest knob I've seen live is Billy Corgan.

Yeah, I've heard that. Apparently when they played here last year he said "how are you guys doing? Not that I care, or anything."

Yeah, it rubs off in his show too. He plays some actual music then about 50 minutes of self-indulgent wankery that has me considering leaving early. Which is extreme, considering they're my favourite band of all time, and still are.

There's nothing especially wrong with his cheeky remarks like the one you mentioned, noone's actually offended by that. Most of us just chuckle. It's just indicative of his general attitude which causes wave after wave of "i'm a knobhead" to radiate from the stage.

He was at a bit of one of the NZ-England test matches when he was over there too.

Joy Division - Shadowplay

Had the iTunes shuffle on, and the Killers version came on. Really isn't a patch on this. Had to change it over.

What Have I Done - Anna Ternheim

Album is fairly average and a bit Didoesque but she has an awesome voice and this song is damn good.

Mozart - Violin Concerto (No. 5 iirc)

Turn on the radio randomly and get to enjoy a classmate playing the violin.
