Skin & Bones - The Sundays

In full-on "Smiths with a bird singer" mode and none the worse for it.
Cricket Web's current Premier League Tipping Champion

    - As featured in The Independent.

It starts with a nice little violin piece, but quickly becomes Radiohead's Creep. Fantastic.

Then the Guiding Light Remix was just the song sped up to chipmunk levels.
The live "Fan favourite Feeling Good" turned out to be a shambolic version of MK ULTRA.

And anyone who tried to type "April Fool's Day" on the official messageboard instead got "Ultimate Muse Releases Day" published in their posts. So there were still people hopelessly lost a while after the zip file was released.

I can't imagine why Falling Away with You wouldn't work live, it seems fairly simple to arrange, and it's more dynamic than Guiding Light.
"The absolute worst thing anyone could say about you is that you were a selfish, moral blank, whose lazy cynicism and sneering, ironic take on the world encapsulates everything wrong with a generation. But you, my friend, are not evil."

    Enemy - Buffalo Tom

Another gem from this most sinfully ignored band. The fact they aren't massive is always a mystery to me because their appeal seems very immediate. Bruce Springsteen fronting Crazy Horse with extra post-hardcore guitars and Catholic guilt, essentially.

Anyway, if there's a better song about the emotional turmoil thats comes from shagging an ex in a drunken moment of weakness I haven't heard it.

And once the storm is over you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure,in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won’t be the same person who walked in. Haruki Murakami .

Listen to it carefully, it's actually an alarmingly complex song. There are a loooooooot of layers in there (at one point I swear I can hear two separate guitar lines) and each one must be exactly at the right level for it to work. I've gathered that that's why they haven't played it.

Hmmm. Radio station up here doing an album countdown this weekend. Lots of oldies being played, bring back memories of when I thought I was **** hot.

As opposed to now, when I know I'm **** hot .

Just played Guns n Roses - November Rain.

Disturbingly, it made me think of Martyn Corrin. Radio now being switched off.

    Muse - Invincible

Despised by many fans of the band, but I rather like it.
