Happy new year to one and all.

As a related aside, if an Aussie or a kiwi who was temporarily domiciled in the UK died in this interregnum between 2008 & 2009, which year would go on their headstone?!

Must be 2009, surely. You die in a certain place, just as you are born in a certain place.

EDIT: Sorry, that's confusing... 2008 if you were to die in the UK now at 17.49 on 31-12-2008.

Reminds me of the riddle of where to bury the survivors...

Best wishes for the new year to everyone.

Went to bed at 10.30pm last night as I wanted to get to work this morning and sort stuff nice and early (which is why you find me on CW at work at 8am in the morning... ). Meanwhile, the neighbours had been boozing and having a party since about 4pm, and were still going when I left for work this morning at 7.30am. The lowlight was being woken at 4am by extremely loud death metal. There was no way I was going to get up and complain though - I'm 29, not 69.
