    Superstitions in Cricket

We know cricketers are mighty superstitious.

    What about you the fan?

I have this thing when Tendulkar bats, I usually don't watch the match, or if am watching I would ensure constantly moving my legs. My uncle watches India's matches with an old stick, which if he wants to take a comfort break, is given to another person who is watching, mostly his son.

Cricketers like Tendulkar and McKenzie are documented for their superstitions. Tendulkar had to wear a round hat since he suffered an allergy in the last Australian tour. He made a century in the Sydney Test match and took some catches, and is using that hat ever since.

Mckenzie used to paste his bats to the cieling with a tape night before a match day.

So what about yours own, or your cricketers?

Probably the wrong forum.. I never step on the crease lines during my innings, like McKenzie.. First time I did it I hit 87.. I also always pad up immediately even if I'm batting at 7, although thats probably due to not wanting to be rushed if we end up 17/5

I have no particular superstitions, but when watching a match (in any sport) that i'm nervous about, i'm terrified of having the wrong thoughts. Every time i think "ah we have this won now.." i berate myself for karma-tempting thinking. I also have to prevent myself from thinking about what i will say to Liverpool-supporting friends the next day.

I can only scroll backwards to the sports channel or else India will lose.

And the cricket can only be on channel 24 or 25.

I imagine playing in a place such as Honiton must be advantageous then because you don't have to move..

Don't really have any cricket superstitions, but reckon this thread has mileagle if we talk about general life ones.

Like I generally like thing to be even numbers, or if they're odd numbers, preferably multiples of 5, etc.
Always walk in the centre of tiles/concrete squares, not on the cracks.
If I crack a knuckle I then go through each finger/toe even if they don't need cracking.

    Life
    - Eat all the crust off sandwiches before eating any other part.
    - Before using a pen/pencil I will always twirl it around for about three minutes.
    - Always start the car before putting my seatbelt on.

    Cricket
    - Stand two feet outside the crease.
    - Never walk onto the field before the fielding team, not for practice or warm-ups.
    - Try as hard as possible not to make 26, try and make 25 then hit a four or get two, won't run even if it's an easy single. (And yes it has caused run outs.)

Yeah Brunettes over blondes for me two, however, in my life have had 4 blonde girlfriends (last one of two years was blonde) and only the one brunetter for about 2 months...

Cant remember how many one night stands I've had though, and who cares about hair colour then
