After Craig's recent "dick on hand" outburst, I'd be more worried about meeting him![]()
Nice work.. Where is Meon Hill? is that on the Foss Way?
Is that near Wales or in Wales itself?
Nowhere near, is round where i live.
Only one in Wales is the Penrhyn Castle photo.
Yeah they can get expensive. There are cheap ones out there though. I left this one in a hut on top of Hallasan ( a mountain on Jeju Island). Had to turn around 30 minutes down the track and head back up to get it. How I didn't realise I was missing a 5 foot long tripod has got me ****ed! haha Thank god it was still there, would have been an expensive trip.

I know a pro photographer (and he also shoots video for weddings etc.) and his best advice was for me to buy a $40-50 tripod and in his words, that is all I really need. He has a $1600 tripod (the handle alone is worth $700), but then he uses it for a $7000 video camera, so it is all reletative I guess.
Yeah, I'd agree. Unless you're heading into areas where stability will be an issue and/or you're making money from it as a professional I think that's all that's needed. If I was spending $1600 it'd go towards a new camera. Had a play around with the Canon 5D MkII the other day in the shop. It was dangerous haha
My latest offering:
That was taken on Macintosh Island Bridge, the new one they put in a few years ago, and yes the bridge is a downwards slope.
There was some sort of a haze through the air.
Some more will follow.

Gold Coast looks identical to my home town, see what the tourists mean when they say it's just "Australia with shacks" - although the hotels are about twice the height

I love the landscape of South Africa. One place I would definatly want to go to. Cape Town would be useful for two things - watching a cricket game at Newlands and going to the top of Table Mountain and then getting the **** out of there.
