Laptop + Phone

This will mainly be for UK users I guess

Basically I want some advice. I am considering getting a new phone, as mine was unfortunately damaged in a freak accident earlier in the week, as you may have read if you are an OT regular. Well I am reliably informed that you can get deals-a-plenty where you can get a contract for about £20 a month and a free laptop with it. Now I'm not really arsed about the quality of my phone, as long as the predicitive text is easy to use I'm happy, and similarly in a laptop I don't want anything fancy, just want one of my own with perhaps a decent bit of memory.

Are these deals any good, is there any sort of drawback (never had a contract phone before) and where the **** should I look?

Nah I'm not buying that.. Throwing your phone against a wall does not constitute an accident..

Try 3, or the Carphone Warehouse..

What I really want to know is, how long will it be before you can plug your mobile into your laptop and have internet access via that onto a laptop as standard, without a WAN.

Been able to do that for years you dolt, it's just slow and ****.

Corrin,

http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/nokia-6300.htm

Scroll down somewhat. £35 a month for a laptop, 600mins and unlimited texts, phone's free.

Is others on that site, have a browse...just make sure you read the reviews and just generally avoid LG/Samsung as a rule.

Indeed? Shows how much attention I pay to mobile-phone technology then. Only noticed you could have serious internet access via mobile alone about a couple of years ago.

With 3G it's pretty quick. Expensive as all hell here though.
