Battle of the worst places in England
Easy enough concept, a battle to crown the worst, direst, most unpleasant place in England. Hopefully the likes of cpr, Goughy, Corrin, Brumby and Mitchell will have a good input. Reckon we'll go with 64 or 32 places.
I'll get the ball rolling with some.. Batley Blackpool Bolton Bradford Bridgewater Bristol Burton upon Trent Cambourne Colchester Coventry Darlington Dewsbury Dover Evesham Gravesend Great Yarmouth Grimsby Halifax Haworth Hull Immingham Keighley King's Lynn Luton Middlesborough Milton Keynes Mirfield Morecambe Moss Side Newport Nottingham Oxford Plymouth Portsmouth Romford S****horpe Salford Saltash Sheffield Skegness Slough Southend Staines Stoke Sunderland Swindon Toxteth Truro Wolverhampton Wroxham Yeovil

Unfortunately there is a clear cut winner in Bradford.

Ive enjoyed the few times Ive had in Keighley but had problems on a daily basis in Bradford (ranging from the mild to the very serious). I seriously dont have a good word to say about the place.
Ive even really enjoyed places such as Peterborough, Doncaster and Darlington that are not supposed to be very nice. How about Oxford as a darkhorse? Croyden was poor as well, as is Rotherham. Though, again, not a patch on Bradford. |

Doncaster is a godawful place. Been there to play hockey once and the team bus nearly got bricked about 5 minutes after entering the actual place. Just so souless and totally devoid of any character.

Southend
Great Yarmouth (winner for me) Romford Plymouth Truro Wroxham Staines Great Yarmouth is the worst place I've been to in England, followed by Southend. I would nominate Barry as well.
