Yeah well with the 26 being named to take on England, Wales & Ireland I think on Monday I mayaswell share my view on the starting lineup for the all important England match.

15. Leon MacDonald
14. Doug Howlett
13. Joe Rokocoko
12. Tana Umaga
11. Sam Tuitopou
10. Carlos Spencer
9. Justin Marshall
8. Taine Randell
7. Richie McCaw
6. Reuben Thorne (c)
5. Simon Maling
4. Ali Williams
hmmm the front row is a tough one because Dave Hewitt has been a machine but anyway
3. Greg Sommerville
2. Kevin Mealamu
1. Kees Meuws

Subs:

Andrew Mehrtens
Steve Devine
Anton Oliver
Norm Maxwell
Mils Muliena (I know Mitchell was specialist players but Mils can be a quality player anywhere in the backline)
Dave Hewitt
Aaron Mauger

I would have big Brad Thorn in the reserves. He is awesome coming off the bench. With Maxwell you are just going to end up playing with 14 players and he isn't in good form at the moment

Williams will be there not a starter though,
Maling = Maybe
Dan Carter = No
Oliver = Maybe, he hasn't had a great season.

Tuitopou on the wing? He has played most, maybe all?, of the season at second-five (12). Rokocoko is a winger......

sorry i stuffed up the numbers

Tuitopou 2nd five, Rokocoko wing

I will not support the All Blacks at the World Cup if Anton Oliver is the hooker aswell as captain cause he is hopeless at both jobs.

Lee has had an awesome year.
Collins played some of the season at 8 and he will start and I think Thorne will also be there so I put him a 8.

What's with Simon Maling guys :O? Chris Jack would always take that job for me.

I would have Mehrtens over Spencer because of experience and goal kicking. Spencer would be on my bench to come in as an impact player.

15. Cullen
14. Howlett
13. Umaga
12. Mauger
11. Rokocoko
10. Mehrtens
9. Marshall
8. Collins
7. McCaw
6. Thorne (captain)
5. Jack
4. Williams
3. Sommerville
2. Bugger - the name has just gone - the Canterbury hooker
1. Meuws

Mehrtens looks as though he's gone Irish with his new ginger sideburns.
But you can't go past Spencer, he's unbelievable..and despite gifting the Crusaders a try he came back very strongly which was something he was unable to do a couple of years back.

The good news is, is that there are so many good players in NZ rugby at the moment for every position..so Mitchell is going to struggle to choose 26 players on Monday for the England, Wales, Ireland matches.

Agreed...

For mine, Merthens is a far better player than Spencer and has a far better kicking game and more experence

I think that Spencer on his day is close to the best player in the world. But he does run hot and cold.

In the sunday star times it says Carter had a reasonable game. It says his defence was great.

"Of possible All Black newcomers Blues outside backs Muliaina and Rokocoko put in good performances and Carter was solid in the reshuffled Crusaders' backline"
