Just finished reading the latest Alex Cross novel "Cross" by James Patterson. The series is nothing short of fantastic if you like murder/mystery books, and i'd recommend them to anyone.

Half way through Jeffrey Archer's "Cat of Nine Tails" and i'd also recommend it, great read.

Want to reread it myself, but i've misplaced my copy (think it's in my car somewhere), so re-reading The Three Musketeers (Dumas = amazing writer)

The damn book is so big it would be hard to misplace it in a car, surely?

About Dorian Gray, yes Wilde does go on a bit after he locks the painting away, skip that, come out the other side and it is pretty good until the finish. I recommend you finish it.

Yeah, found it last night under the drivers seat. Had been reading it last month whilst waiting to pick someone up from the hospital (was a long wait), so carrying on reading it at night. Absolutely love the book

Currently halfway through Walking The Shadows by Donald James. Good book. I especially like the fact the main character has some nasty secrets that should make you hate him but you also see the better sides of him and like him.

Just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

Wow. I cannot recommend this enough. I hate judging books so close to completion, as the best books are those that stay with you, but right now this book is about as good as any I've ever read.

On an unrelated note, I'm coming up on a major milestone in terms of the # of books I now have (I average 1-2 a week, depending on the size and how much time I have to read), so I can't wait for that .

Robert Harris - Imperium. If you like Roman history & a well written story, then this is the one for you.

Re-read Northern Lights last week; just love it. Am rather annoyed that they re-named the film & dumbed it down for the Americans

    COME ON YOU BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could have at least called it something more relevant eh?

But it's not a golden compass - It's an alethiometer and it's made of brass, not gold!

'Golden' doesn't necessarily mean it has to be made of gold.

That was my point, Golden Compass is hardly an apt title.

Hmm, can't think of a way to combine truth and device into words who are in close proximity to each other alphabetically....maybe Lies Machine Not something?
