Yeah thats exactly it, its like a dream. I wouldn't say it necessarily was a frightening book, but the imagery would stick with me, and some of those images are pretty unpleasant.

Either way though, Gaiman is gun.

Yeah, fair point. Some of the imagery was certainly quite graphic, and like you I suspect it will stay with me.

But yeah, Gaiman indeed is a gun. I really want to get all of the editions of The Sandman now, but it would be so expensive to do so.

Finished this last night. Smashed through the entire 450 pages in two days. Really gripping stuff. Loved it.

Haha, yeah that scene is so weird. It just made me think of being adsorbed by Muk and Grimer from Pokemon.

Does anyone know how/if it was done in the TV adaptation? I never watched, but the thought has crossed my mind on a few occasions.

Started on Our Oriental Heritage by Will Durant after reading The Age of Faith and hoo boy, what strikes me is that for someone who has ended up on the right side of history with a social advocacy legacy to be proud of he sure was still unintentionally racist as **** by modern standards back in 1935

Can anyone recommend a non-fiction that looks at the British Empire in it's heyday? Something read-able though.

I have three books on that subject and the best is Rise And Fall Of The British Empire by Lawrence James

Just finished reading We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor, and started the second book in the trilogy, For We Are Many. I was searching for books like Hitchhiker's Guide when I stumbled upon these. It has some resemblance to H2G2, but the writing style is very different. Different doesn't mean bad though. I'm impressed so far, and am looking forward to completing the trilogy.
