A knight of the seven kingdoms (GRRM)
    The final empire (Sanderson)

Since ASOAIF I wanted to try more fantasy. Did the magicians trilogy which I loved. Did the first book of Empire trilogy which I did not love. See how we go with Sanderson
    You haven't read the Godfather?

It is such an awesome book.

And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Read "The Children of Time". Really neat premise, quality concise worldbuilding and very clean, fluid prose and pacing (as it needs to be to fit a space opera into one book). Thematically rich too, just could have used a better ending.

Ready Player One though. It's so bad that I'm ashamed to have been duped into trying to read it, and amazed that anyone would publicly admit to liking it.
Ready Player One is so so bad
do you think people will be allowed to make violins?

Movie doesn't look much chop. Was almost considering Kindle'ing it out of curiosity but the trailer made me....ehhh.

The Godfather book is trash, Puzo was quite open about doing it for the money.

It has some really bizarre and irrelevant passages that the movies don't cover (thankfully). But I really enjoyed the book.

FWIW T_C's opinion is unusual, most people love it. I haven't read it but the story is such a banger that for my money it'd be almost impossible to turn into a bad book.

Godfather is great. Hope you haven't seen the films before and get to read it unspoiled.
Isnít it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? Ė Douglas Adams

I don't remember if I've posted about it before in this thread but We are Anonymous by Pammy Olson is one of the most entertaining non-fiction books I've read. Largely due to a big part of the subject matter being internet (4chan) culture.

You won't really gain much out of it but it's very compelling stuff.

Correct. I know that in and of itself is terrible but there you go.
