'Shocking' Article: Video Games and Violent Behaviour

Just had a look at the plots on the page, he definitely lifted them direct from the US DoJ website and didn't do them himself.

    Thoughts?

Back in my day we had video games and i never got the urge to go on a 2D heavily pixilated killing spree.

Video games cause violence, its the only possible reason. Why I've read some research that suggests the cause of the Huns conquests was getting the idea from Command and Conquer 2: Red Alert. Didn't Lincoln get assassinated by that guy who always played Time Crisis? Pretty sure Hitler was a bit of an Unreal Tournament fan.

This research is shocking and undeniable, ban video games, and foosball is the devil!

That's interesting. I've always been concerned about video game violence after having played Electro Freddy back in 1984 and spending the rest of the day pushing cheap electronic goods around a 2D, monochrome warehouse and having Clive Sinclair stomping after me all day.

Didn't even get paid for it.

I don't think anyone seriously believed that the effect of video games on violent crime was anything more than an inflated myth created to sell of copies of the Daily Mail.

Or at least, I hope no one seriously believed it did.

I wouldn't be surprised if games 'inspired' some already volatile individuals to engage in violent behaviour, but that could happen with anything really. No reason for bans etc.

The classier response would be to play GTA4 against him online and rant in your mic about what you're going to do to him if you ever meet.

I don't know about you, but video games have influenced me so much I spend my days running around darkened rooms avoiding ghosts and eating glowing orbs and jumping on turtles and bashing my head against bricks that float in the sky.
