New Futurama Thread
Well I figured I'd start it since it's been a while since the new Futurama movie came out. Since seeing Bender's Big Score, I've also seen The Beast With a Billion Backs. BBS was really quite good I thought and I was surprised how well the team did at making a Futurama movie. Plenty of in-jokes of course but was still a pretty enjoyable watch with new disgusting aliens. My only criticism; nowhere near enough Zapp.
Well, that changed a bit with the new one. BWaBB is a really bizzare film. Had some really funny bits and much more Zapp (still not enough, in my opinion) but was a truly weird movie. Still unsure of it, will have to watch it again. Any thoughts for those who have seen the new ones? Are the new ones a patch on old Futurama eps? Are they better?

I loved Bender's Big Score, thought it was great, my girlfriend has watched it three times but still doesn't get it. Not that I'm sure there's really much to get, but still thought it was tops.

Haven't seen The Beast With a Billion Backs yet, but Bender's Big Score was awesome, very fun and top plot as well (the time thing, not the spammers who were annoying), as opposed to the Simpsons movie which wasn't really that funny and the plot was ordinary as well.

Neither of them are as good as the episodes. Still funny though.

(no kidding, everyone who saw the film before me, that's the bit they mentioned. Very sad.) EDIT: I loved the spammers too; thought they were hilarious but then I know so many geeks who are just like them..... |

The Simpsons' Movie was ****. Pure and simple. I was appalled. After the first 10 minutes, I don't think I even chuckled.
Bender's Big Score was a much bigger letdown. I was so disappointed that they'd turned it into a cliche ridden festival of the yawn. I mean, it was still okay and much better than the Simpsons Movie, but not a patch on the majority of Futurama episodes. Highly disappointed. Hoping for much more from the next one.

I watched it twice on the flight back to Australia. TBF I had over 12 hours from Germany to Singapore and another 7.5 hours from there to Brisbane and not being able to sleep and that I needed something to do.

The Simpsons movie wasn't that bad. Got a few laughs from it.

Wasnt dissapointed with the Simpsons film tbh, simply because I expected it to be fairly mediocre, as lets face it, the normal show has been pretty crap for a long time now.
Never really liked Futurama all that much tbh...dunno why, just didnt get it a lot of the time. |
