FIFA 08 - Racist?!

I am currently in a state of shock.

PLaying FIFA08, Germany vs Poland (I created a Euro tournament)...anyway i was winning 8-2, and the commentator goes "They (Poland) will need to dig an escape tunnel if they're gonna get out of this". I thought this was a bit of a quirky and perhaps topical statement, given the history between the two countries, but then in the after match summary he said "and once again the germans slaughtered the home team on their own turf"... but i have never played GER vs POL before.

SO the grand question is...if FIFA08 being racist/topical/inappropriate?

Any other examples of similar things?

Try playing as Germany against one or two different teams, at their home stadium..... etc.

Might be a common commentary line. Try playing with some other teams.

Beat Argentina 4-0 at their home ground, and NOTHING of the sort.
Wonder what would happen if it was, say, Germany vs Austria...

Have never heard the tunnel digging comment before either, and I have logged 100's of hours on FIFA.

Highly doubt EA would want to put out a racist game.

Might be something a developer put in out of boredom. You could always post on a FIFA08 forum and see if anybody else has noticed it in a different scenario. If so perhaps this is something EA needs to hear about.

I seem to remember simalarly racist comments in SmackDownvsRaw 07, but I'd have to play it again to tell you what they were...

Am going to go play Germany vs Poland on easy, just to see what happens. Have never heard the tunnel line either, and have had some cracking wins.
