    Can nonviolent resistance truly work?

Gandhi certainly thought so but can it truly work (Yes he is my new avatar). Like someone in the movie Gandhi said "Do you really believe you could use non violence against Hitler?"

Yes, of course it could work. It can probably work in more circumstances than most of us realize. But the question you mean to ask is could it work under all circumstances? The answer to that one is no.

As much as a pessimist I am on human beings I do believe that everyone (Yes everyone) has some ounce of goodness in them and if we can bring out that goodness which can prove incredibly difficult you can use non violence.

Well I'd be hard-pressed not to...

What were you referring to me noticing BTW? The quote, or the weather and the date?

Either way, I'd be hard-pressed not to.

Well, maybe "decent chap" is speaking out of turn, because Gandhi thought every human being was a decent chap.

That was before most of the proper war and at least 2 years before the 'Final Solution' came into play though.
