Think I'm going to trade my way up on the auction house for a while. I have over 5 million gold at the moment and plenty of gear to flog. I can find buy out bargains without too much hassle. Found quite a nice one this morning - pants with about 800 armour +30 res/all, +100 strength about +90 vitality, 19% magic find and a couple of sockets. Using them in my farming set, because of the armour value it might work out for my best set as well.

Woohoo, found a set item 3-4 hours ago. One of these:

Zunimassa's Vessel - Game Guide - Diablo III

Mine has just over 140 intelligence and the nice bonus of two item sockets - so stuck two crappy gems in it and it's over 200. It's at over 2.6m already. Thought it was quite crap personally. Also found a worthless rare weapon which I salvaged for the brimstone. It will be only the second item I've found that will sell for over 1m (obviously I've kept a few of them). My barb only has one item I've ever spent 1m or more on and I think I bought all of his gear.

dcye got a 10m drop the other day, and another amulet which i havent seen if he sold or not but was amazing. My best sell is like 5m.

Heh, that was my third pick-up sale of over 1m and the other two weren't much over 1m. I've bought about 3-4 items for cheap that I've sold on for 1m+. Didn't expect to get anywhere near as much as I did for that set item.

Have been farming Act 2 with about 135 basic magic find. Now trying to upgrade my magic find set to ultimately farm Act 3 without needing 2 WotBs to kill stuff - but a way off yet. I've just been trading survivability for damage so far. I need both.

I'm finding it very difficult to get meaningful upgrades, partly because the auction house search is so ****e - I need 4/5 things to look for. I really want to search for all resist, physical resist (fire/arcane or extra armour at a pinch) and magic find as a basic. Then cycle through other useful stuff so I'm not wading through endless intelligent/dexterity items. I end up wading through 15 pages of items and usually find 1-2 that are actually pretty cheap but offer no real upgrade.

WHAT? I must have been drunker than I thought. Would have bought it off him there and then if I knew it was his. Would have tried to get in on a steal though.
