Not Xbox or PS3 related, but this is basically a general gaming thread. Any other Warcraft 3 players around here?

Used to love Warcraft 3 tbh.

Haven't played it in close to a decade, however.

Had Bulgarian neighbours last year, and would occasionally hear them shouting like crazy and then a load of stuff being smashed up. Went round to ask if everything was ok, some guy answered the door and said he had just played an intense game of starcraft. That's the extent of my knowledge on the game tbh.

You sure they didn't smash something on your head when you went to investigate?

Nah, they were always alright to me. Just treated each other like ****. They also had a white transit van with a Kangaroo painted on the side, which makes them alright in my book.

thought it was Koreans who were particularly passionate about it tbh.

Oh, and in case you're one of those people - Warcraft 3 is not World Of Warcraft. Different types of games.

Ha, yeah, I am aware of the difference. Though I will admit I did misread your original post.

Warcraft 3 was way too hyper for me. It was basically build up everything, get max army, watch most of that get obliterated, rinse and repeat in the space of about 30 seconds. The slowest one loses. I played the first two games to death though.

Am playing Dungeon Siege + expansion to death at the moment. Only got an hour or so left of my third playthrough. Only got Anjali left to play as. Might try the hardest difficulty level after that - it's supposed to be brutally hard. You can die very fast on the medium level but I've not had too many problems even with the sometimes rather dumb AI buddy.

Nah, I don't find it like that at all. Being able to manipulate and micro your troops effectively is key as the upkeep system puts a fair tax on players who just mass troops. Basically, if you lose your first major assault, you're ****ed. Got to make every unit count.

There isn't a tax on players who mass troops because you can't mass troops, it's just a case of everyone rushing to hit the relatively tiny army limit. Then when they die and the numbers drop it becomes a rush to get the army back up before they do.
