Ah. That was basically the gist of it, crude though it was.

I just read up on it. Very sad. It's an unfortunate reality but a lot of developers have mental problems.

    It's a horrible industry tbh

Stories of dreadful working conditions and abuse are rife

Most artistic industries are. You have a whole bunch of naive 20-somethings that get exploited because either they want to make it big (Hollywood/porn connection) or are "doing something thousands of others would kill to do" (graphic artists, game designers/ programmers, animators etc...).

And the reality is that many of those jobs can have outsourcing to lower the cost further.

Truth is that entertainment of any kind is an industry that is "hit reliant". In sport that means to make money you're in the few hundred best players in the world in that sport. In movies you're either an A list actor or you get poorly paid given the intermittent nature of the work. In video games your either an independent or you're a poorly paid worker drone for Activision/EA/Ubisoft. If you're an independent you'd better hope for a hit.

Monster Hunter World looks like Jurassic Park the game and there was a good offer with the base game + new dlc so bit the bullet and got it.

Really helps that the entire thing is only 12 GB for such a huge, visual game.

I was thinking of getting the DLC but it alone is £50, which is more than I paid for the game itself iirc.

    F1 2019, NBA 2k20.

Sports game grind. Both are good games with a few glaring issues that don't bother me all that much.

Updated my Pro Evo after 3 years, about time I treated myself. Looking forward to a good sesh last night, only for my boss to ring seconds after I bought it, panicking about a big deal we've got today, and demanding I'm in the office for 7am. Absolute ruined the night plans

Been sat here 90 mins now and the **** hasn't even shown up.

Just been playing The Godfather: Don's Edition. The Godfather game was a great game as it was, but the Don's Edition really is something else. So good.

Did you go on that poker trip? If so, did you bankrupt some overseas businessman who thinks he can bluff because he negotiated a big contract once?

Haha was playing the rupee equivalent of 3/7$ with 200BB min buy in, came out with a neat 3900$ profit after 3 nights and a day of laggy playing, games were extremely soft with a big tournament running and I ran pretty well to not get into interesting post flop situations often with the recurring 1-3 pros better than me at the table.

Might post some hands later, pain in the ass with the CW software though.

Sounds like a successful venture. Good work.
