Bought one of these a couple of years ago as a graduation present to myself. It's an Ibanez ARC300, and it's fantastic. I didn't think I liked Ibanez's, but then I tried that, and it's far better than any other similar-priced guitar I've tried. Got it for $800 IIRC, marked down from $1100, so it's in the same range as your Epiphone Les Paul knock-offs, but is far, far nicer to play than them. Great tone, good tone control, and the neck is a nice, comfortable size and shape. Looks good too, with the Paua inlay and all.
Think it won some NZ music magazine award as the best overall guitar the year I bought it, considering value for money etc. Highly recommended. |

Holy ****, a new person!
Just watch the components with Ibanez. I own an Ibanez Universe, cost me thousands but had a $2 pickup selector and a cheap jack in it. Great guitars otherwise, make some of the best necks in the business these days.

Well, it certainly looks nice and with any Fernandes, generally guaranteed you're getting a good axe. I know theres a lot more buzz around the quality of early 80's Revivals Strats/Teles, though and I can vouch for how nice the latter are.
Tone Nazi's would balk at the bridge being 5-saddle and modern but meh, if it's good enough for Jerry Donahue, it's good enough for anyone. Last edited by Top_Cat; 16-11-2011 at 04:35 PM. |

What's the most comfortable way to play a C#min D5 chord on a Guitar? (EADGBE tuning)

Hmmm, not 100% sure exactly what you mean. C#m and D5 are separate chords. If you're talking about the difference between barre and open chords, C#m is definitely easier as a barre chord whether the type I (9th fret) or type II (4th fret) version. D5 is a power chord so a half-barre (
)On other matters, here's a short guitar break at my new band's last gig. Candice And The Arcade Villains - Segway from Running To Me into Bounce .. - YouTube |
