Casson, I was just reinstating my point which I made 3 months ago but didn't have any effect. I don't think it is a difficult concept to understand.

One of the perks of having generous supervisors is the travel you get to squeeze in around conferences.

I have lived in the UK for three months in 2006, and visited Arizona (Phoenix, Sedona), Lisbon, Edinburgh, Tuscany (Siena, Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano) and the Netherlands (Leiden, Utrecht, Amsterdam).

Here are some photos:

Volterra

Sedona

Leiden

Florence

Did a lot of travelling over the summer, went around on my own for a few months and saw some incredible places and had some great experiences including seeing the sunset over the Sahara desert in Libya, Petra, and attending the Festival au Desert in Mali. Photos are here. Some samples:

Turkey

Libya

Jordan - Petra

Mali

Windhoek, Namibia - Clean, hassle free destination with perfect weather.. There much that post-colonial Africa has to learn from countries like Namibia and Botswana

Pretty pissed that Dasa has been to Florence and I haven't tbh.

Great snaps Dasa. Langers, sounds like you're dead set in love with Namibia.

So have I It's a lovely city, and you won't have any language problems, as I found a lot of people spoke good English (including the locals when I asked for directions). The line for the galleries can be a very long wait, but it is worth it IMO.

Dasa, I have to ask, what has inspired you to go to places like Mali, Libya, Turkey, and Jordan? You have made me jealous

Great photos BTW.
