"All are lunatics, but he who can analyze his delusions is called a philosopher." - Ambrose Bierce

The only other song that comes to mind immediately is "The Wrong Road" by The Go-Betweens. As perfect a song about regret as you're ever likely to find.
Stranded at low-tide where the river bends
Wouldnt you know it, thats how life ends
Lucky at cards, thats an old lie
Lucky in love, thats how life ends
Well the turncoats turned around
When they heard the sound of the bell
Dropped their coins into the well
I took the wrong road round
"Under the spreading chestnut tree,
I sold you and you sold me."
Most of what I'd have posted has been posted already, so here's my contribution.
Snow Patrol - Run
The whole of Athornforeveryheart's album 'Thing's Aren't So Beautiful Now' has a massive depressing memory vibe to it, much like that horrendous Hey There Delilah for Hingeh.
In particular, The Prediction and February, which have special meanings to me.
Also, a few From Autumn to Ashes songs are "sad". Short Stories with Tragic Endings (which is one of the most epic songs I've heard) and Autumn's Monologue.
Also, anything by Joshua Radin, in particular Winter.
The one, the only CW Black
Code:47.3 W Coppinger to Heads Smacked the ball straight into the groin of Iwuajoku who has fallen over, miraculously with the ball still caught in his scrotal area! Out!
The first time I ever heard Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd was at the funeral of a family friend, A couple of years I was listening to it a bit when my parents broke up, so it's falls into the "sad" category for me.
Ruiner - Getting Over the Overs, though this is also rather angry.
