How fast have you ridden a bicycle?

    Inspired by Yaju's thread:

I was out today (first sunny day all year) and decided to have a crack at a decent top speed on my bike. So let's use this thread to compete to see how fast we can ride.

I suggest you try it downhill and with wind assistance. This is where living on the coast helps

    Today: 46.0kph
All-Time Best: 49.3kph (yes, above the speed limit )

I got up to about 42mph on an exercise bike...I was quite shocked.

Haven't ridden a bike for a while though.

i can do over 60km/h on an exercise bike(the odometer doesn't go n e further. but i'm guessing i got up around near 80, as the odometer nearly went right round to 0 again :O). and the fastest i have gone going downhill is about 55km/h.

That's either slip-streaming or lying out your arse!!! :O:O If you did then that's well impressive but I'm slightly sceptical. That's 75 mph.........some cars can't go that fast.

My fastest ever is around 41~41.5 kph, with a mountain bike with wide wheels on a flat rode. I consider it quite an achievment after previously cycling for 1 hour 50 min...

    Motorbike maybe?

I don't like going too fast on bikes, if you crash it's going to hurt even more than usual...
